Introduction

Our philosophy

This is the oldest restaurant in Cecina, considering that it’s been managed by the same family since 1957. We have our very own fishing boat that we use to catch fish year-round. The restaurant is elegant and in the summer we have a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, with adjoining beach facilities. Closed on Wednesday (even in summer) and from January 6th to February 14th for vacation, each year.
Chef Rosario Larosa (who’s been with us for 35 years) mans the kitchen along with Giacomo Poggetti. The dining Owners Riccardo and Roberto Poggetti and Roberto’s wife Angela are responsible for dining room operations. Some of the not-to-be-missed appetizers include tuna bottarga (roe) on toasted bread and mixed fresh catch of the day seafood, all delicious and unique dishes. The first course dishes are simple yet extremely tasty, starting from spaghetti with Carpet clams and bottarga, my rigatoni with Carpet clams and Sardinian smoked ricotta, potato gnocchi dumplings with octopus and when our fishing boat catches cuttlefish we make an excellent black rice. The main course dishes are also unique, from oven baked fish with mixed in-season vegetables to fish prepared with Sardinian pecorino cheese and parsley. You can also eat prawns, arugula and ginger, shrimp au gratin with parsley, fried mixed fish and much more. At the end of the meal you can choose from a wide selection of sorbets and desserts, including green apple sorbet and Calvados brandy, molten apple cake served warm with vanilla ice cream and toasted almonds, mousse made with Bacio chocolates and citrus fruits, warm chocolate soufflé served with ice cream, all made in keeping with tradition. All of the dishes are paired with wines you can select from our extensive wine list, featuring Tuscan vintages without excluding other national and foreign wines.
